Aims and Scope
CONFLUENŢE: Texts & Contexts Reloaded (T.C.R.) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published annually by the University of Oradea.
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process, ensuring academic integrity, objectivity, and high scholarly standards.
The journal publishes original research in the fields of literary studies and cultural studies, with a particular focus on:
- • Anglophone Literatures
• Francophone Literatures
• Germanophone Literatures
• Comparative Literature
• Migration and Diaspora Studies
• Cultural and Gender Studies
• Literature and Media / Intermedial Studies
The journal seeks to foster international scholarly dialogue by promoting interdisciplinary approaches and critical perspectives in the humanities.
Submissions must:
- Present original, unpublished research;
- Not be under consideration elsewhere at the time of submission;
- Contribute significantly to current debates in the field.
The journal welcomes contributions from both early-career and established scholars worldwide.
Editorial and Review Policy
CONFLUENŢE operates a rigorous double-blind peer-review system. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with recognised expertise in the relevant field.
The Executive Editorial Team and the Advisory Board oversee the review process and uphold academic and ethical standards.
The journal adheres to internationally recognised principles of publication ethics.
Open Access Policy
CONFLUENŢE is a fully Open Access journal.
All articles are immediately and permanently available online without subscription or access fees.
The journal:
- Does not charge authors article processing charges (APCs);
- Does not charge readers for access;
- Publishes both online and in print format.
Authors retain copyright under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence and are responsible for securing permissions for third-party copyrighted materials.
Publication Schedule
The journal is published once per year.
Key Dates:
- Submission of full articles (5,000–7,000 words): 31 July
- Peer review period: 1 August – 15 October
- Submission of revised articles: 10 November
- Submission of book reviews: 10 November
- Online publication: 20 December
- Print edition: 30 January
History
The journal originates from the academic publication Lucrări Științifice (1966–1967), established at the University of Oradea.
In 2006, Confluențe was launched as a specialised Modern Languages and Literature fascicle publishing research in English, French, German, and Italian literary studies.
In 2012, the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research classified the journal as Category C.
