Romanian Department

litere-mic

The Romanian Language and Literature Department consists of 12 tenured members of staff, and one consulting professor, thus covering the whole range of teaching positions, from Assistant Lecturer to Professor. The staff members have teaching experience ranging from 4 years' experience to 47 years' experience. The Department therefore boasts both highly-experienced professors on the one hand and young teaching staff who contribute new, modern methods of teaching on the other hand.

Over one half of the teaching staff are members of national and international professional associations (two of them are members of the Romanian Writers' Association). A significant number are editors or standing collaborators with prestigious journals in the field, such as: Romania literara, Echinox, Familia, Steaua, Vatra, Observator cultural, Tribuna, Caiete critice, Cultura, Adevarul literar si artistic etc.

Equally importantly, almost one half of the teaching staff have been awarded at least one important prize in the field of literary studies, prizes awarded by the Writers' Association included.

Last but not least, the fact that 3 members of staff are also PhD Supervisors should be mentioned.
