Romanian-American Fulbright Commission

In accordance with the provisions of the Agreement between the Government of Romania and the Government of the United States of America on exchanges in the fields of culture, education and teaching, as well as based on the agreement between the governments of the two countries on the establishment and operation of the Fulbright Commission in Romania, a series of American lecturers and young researchers have won Fulbright teaching/research grants in Romania, collaborating over the years with the University of Oradea, Faculty of Letters, as follows:

DAAD - German Academic Exchange Service

Every year, in October, DAAD Romania supports the Oradea academic community and the specialization in German Language and Literature through information sessions about the scholarships offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). During these sessions, thematic workshops and testing of the German language knowledge of Oradea students are organized. Every year, Oradea German students benefit from scholarships to study in Germany, to improve their level of knowledge of the German language.

Starting with 2025, DAAD Germany supports through the Ostpartnerschaften program the bilateral academic partnership concluded between Humboldt University of Berlin, Chisinau State University and the University of Oradea. The partnership, initiated and coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veronica Buciuman, aims to support the philological tradition and that of teaching modern languages ​​in the three partner universities. The planned actions are research and teaching mobilities (faculty and students), conferences and exploratory workshops, joint publications.

The tradition and collaboration have been maintained uninterrupted since 2001, thus DAAD was the main sponsor of the International Congress of the German Society of Romania, organized at the University of Oradea, Faculty of Letters, in 2018.

AUF

The collaboration with the Association of Francophone Universities has been going on for over seven years, especially through the co-financing of the French Language Lectureship within the Faculty of Letters, but also through the granting of research scholarships for various fields represented at the University of Oradea. The initiator of this bilateral academic agreement is Ms. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daciana Vlad, awarded in 2025 with the Medal of Knighthood of the Order of "Palmes Académiques" of France.

ELTE - University BUDAPEST, HUNGARY

The collaboration with ELTE University in Budapest dates back a long time, is constant, with at least one activity in the scientific sphere every year. The bilateral academic collaboration agreement is initiated by Prof. Dr. Florin Cioban, as a lecturer at the Institute of the Romanian Language and a member of IOSUD of the University of Oradea. Personalities and professors from ELTE University were invited to be keynote speakers at conferences organized by the Faculty of Letters, participated in Erasmus exchanges and supervised research internships of young teaching staff from the Department of Romanian Language and Literature of the Faculty of Letters. Prof. Dr. Nagy Levente was a member of the committees supporting and guiding doctoral students in the field of Philology.

Lectureship programs of the Robert Bosch Foundation: German lecturers and tandem lecturer at the University of Oradea

Between 2003-2011, the specialization of German language and literature, in related combinations, collaborated with the Robert Bosch Foundation in Germany. This collaboration is materialized by the presence of a German lecturer at the department and the financing of a tandem lecturership among the Oradea teaching staff. The lecturers of the Robert Bosch Foundation organized collaborative research projects and cultural projects. Through the lecturership, a significant acquisition of scientific books was made for the library of the German language specialization, and the tandem lecturer of the R. Bosch Foundation, Dr. Veronica Buciuman, benefited from research internships at universities in Germany.
