The Romanian Language and Literature specialization is the oldest, being the first specialization offered to students when the Oradea Pedagogical Institute was founded in 1963. Over time, the Department of Romanian Language and Literature has included personalities recognized in Romanian academic and cultural life.
In its current form, the department has ten full members, both teaching staff with seniority in education and experience at the department, as well as young colleagues at the beginning of their academic careers, concerned not only with training specialists in the field of Romanian Language and Literature, but also with their own improvement and research.
The department manages specific bachelor's degree programs and the master's degree in Romanian Literature - European relevance.
