Philological universitary studies have a tradition of 60 years in University of Oradea, being founded in 1963. Faculty of Oradea has a remarkable journey of affirmation. Currently exists study possibilities within 12 double license specializations, within 4 masters and of a doctoral school of philology. Courses are being held in modernized spaces and digital laboratories, having language of teaching romanian, english, french and german.

Double specializations exists from year 1971, being founded once with reorganization of philologic national teaching. From the year 1990 Faculty of Letters functions with the same name, and in present, continues the mission of romanian cultures, and of english expressions, french and german.

In year 2008, research and professional masters were founded. Romanian literature- European relevance, Culture and European civilization, types of modernities in space of anglophone and francophone space, through H.G. 4644/30.06.2008.

Beginning with the year 2022. Faculty of Letters accredited master program functions as professional master. Professional and intercultural communication. Specialized translations(in languages english, french and german).

After masteral studies finalization, students can choose the option to continue professional perfection during the doctoral school of philology.

A program of study more and more requested is preparatory year for Romanian language for foreign citizens, with duration of one year. Inaugurated in year 2013, and that addresses to foreign citizens, European and non-european, that wish to be admitted at study programs in romanian language at universities from Romania.

All programs and domains of studies offered are accredited, that can be accessed by citizens from whole world.

Within Faculty of Letters functions also a center of modern languages(CLM) that organizes intensive courses of foreign language (english, french, german and romanian language).
